I am Rachel Jones, a designer and researcher deeply dedicated to leveraging thoughtful user-centric design to drive innovation past preconceived limitations on technology and the human experience.
Right now, I am seeking new opportunities that utilize my strong analytical and creative abilities, as well as my experience in helping organizations—from startups to multinational corporations—in using data to rethink products and systems to address genuine needs and drive value for all stakeholders.
Education

Experience
Currently I am working as a Co-Founder Designer Researcher and Strategist at Empathetic Design Labs, where I apply user-centered methods and strategic analysis to identify and solve complex challenges for nonprofits. Leading end-to-end solutions, enhancing impact, efficiency, and scalability.
Outside of work, I serve as the design chair for my local run club where I designed the group logo and am helping establish the clubs visual identity.
In 2022, I served as a Strategic Designer for Boston Consulting Group. Here, I effectively combined my design, analytical, and business acumen to assist large corporations align their systems, interfaces, and strategies with user needs and company objectives. This effort empowered these large companies to drive change within their respective industries, reinforcing my belief in the transformative power of strategic design.
Previously, I worked as a founder and UX Designer for the startup, Bird Coach, where I helped to transform the idea that there may be room for increased efficiency in personal training into a funded business with a design that has since been developed and brought to commercial use.
In 2020, as a Cognitive Systems Engineer at Resilient Cognitive Solutions I used my understanding of design, cognitive psychology, and business to transform complex decision support systems into the companies first commercial product.
In my final year at CMU, I led my MHCI capstone team to create a suite of tools for a non-profit, Pandemic Professors, that enables them to reach their mission with greater efficiency.
